Sondra Radvanivsky surprised audiences on July 29 at the first performance of “West Side Story” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The Barcelona theater said, “It was the surprise of the night! The great Sondra Radvanovsky appeared on stage at the Gran Teatre del Liceu to perform ‘Somewhere’ in the symphonic version of ‘West Side Story,’ under the baton of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. Thank you, Sondra, for making that somewhere feel eternal, if only for a moment.”

Radvanovsky joined a cast that included Nadine Sierra, Juan Diego Florez, Isabel Leonard, and Jarrett Ott. Gustavo Dudamel conducts the concert performance, which runs through July 31, 2025.

Radvanovsky next appears in Tosca at the Teatro San Carlo.
