The Dallas Opera has announced that it will be partnering with WRR 101.1 FM to broadcast two operas.

First up will be Gounod’s “Faust” in a performance from 1998. The showcase features Stuart Neil in the title role with Veronica Villarroel as Marguerite. Robert Lloyd finishes off the trio as Méphistofélès. The performance is particularly memorable for the company as it features the debut of conductor Emmanuel Villaume, who is the company’s Mrs. Eugene McDermott Music Director. The broadcast kicks off on June 6, 2020 at 7 p.m. local time.

Second up is a performance of Verdi’s “La Traviata” on June 11, 2020 at 7 p.m. local time. The opera stars Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role as Violetta followed by Marcus Haddock as Alfredo and James Westman as Germont. Graeme Jenkins, the company’s former music director, conducts.

The Dallas Opera is also presenting several shows online as part of its TDO Network.
