Sondra Radvanovsky, Simon Keenlyside & Andrè Schuen Lead Salzburg Easter Festival’s 2025 Season

The Salzburg Easter Festival has announced its 2025 season.

Modest Mussorgsky’s “Khovanshchina” will be directed by Simon McBurney and will showcase the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. It will be presented in a version of the unfinished work based solely on the testimonies left behind by Mussorgsky.

Felix Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” will be performed by Maxim Emelyanychev and Andrè Schuen.

The young Norwegian conductor Tabita Berglund makes her Salzburg debut conducting musicians of the local Mozarteum Orchestra. The concert includes arias and duets from operas such as “Macbeth,” “Andrea Chénier,” and “Rusalka.” The singers are Sondra Radvanovsky, SeokJong Baek and Simon Keenlyside.

Bass Matti Salminen sings Finnish tango compositions in a night concert with musicians from the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
