San Francisco Opera has announced its streams for the month of August 2021.

The company will stream two operas this month, including an Italian classic as well as an iconic German masterpiece.  All performances can be watched directly on the company’s official website.

First up will be a stream of a 2015 staging of Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.” The David McVicar production starred Brandon Jovanovich, Martin Gantner, Philip Horst, Sasha Cooke, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, Ain Anger, and James Rutherford. The production was conducted by Sir Mark Elder.

Streaming Dates: August 7-8, 2021

Next up will be a production of Donizetti’s dramatic masterwork “Roberto Devereux” headlined by Sondra Radvanovksy, Russell Thomas, and Jamie Barton. The production was directed by Stephen lawless with Riccardo Frizza conducting.
