The Teatro San Carlo di Napoli has announced that it will be presenting Bellini’s “Il Pirata.”

The theater revealed via social media that Sondra Radvanovsky will take on the role of Imogene alongside Celso Albelo as Gualtiero and Luca Salsi as Ernesto. Antonino Fogliani will conduct the opera, which will be performed without an audience and via the company’s streaming platform.

The opera will represent the first work the Teatro San Carlo presents in 2021.

Radvanovsky recently rehearsed concert performances of “Il Pirata” in Dec. 2019 at the Opéra de Paris. Meanwhile, Albelo has performed “Il Pirata” at the Teatro Real and is best known for his Bel Canto interpretations.

Salsi recently performed at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Teatro Filarmonico, and Teatro alla Scala.

The production is set to stream between Feb. 5-28, 2021.
