Sondra Radvanovsky has announced her divorce from Duncan Lear.

The soprano took to social media and said, “It is with a VERY sad heart that I tell you that, not only am I dealing with the death of my mother, but I am going through a divorce. This is a very difficult time, but I am feeling happy and ready for the next chapter of my life…as well as opening night at Metropolitan Opera. Love Sondra.”

Many of her colleagues wrote on the soprano’s social media showing solidarity including Ermonela Jaho, Leah Crocetto, Rufus Wainwright, Hera Hyesang Park, and Alice Coote, among others.

Radvanovsky was married to Lear in December 2001.

The soprano is set to return to the stage in the fall for the opening night production of “Medea” at the Metropolitan Opera.
