Social Media Beat (Week 4/14-20): Anna Netrebko Previews The Met 50th While Brian Cedel Takes Over Philadelphia’s Instagram

The week saw many of the world’s greatest singers perform and rehearse. But it also saw them enjoy their daily activities and attend numerous interesting events. Check it out.

It was an eventful week for Anna Netrebko between shopping at Barney’s and singing Tchaikovsky’s ‘Eugene Onegin.” However, it all culminated with the diva showing her fans a preview of the Met’s 50th-anniversary gala.

Baritone Brian Cedel took over Opera Philadelphia’s Instagram and shared pictures of his daily routine from handstands to a nice relaxing moment with boyfriend, opera singer Jonathan Beyer, to studying his score.

Carmen Giannattasio showed off her gowns from her concert at the Broad Stage in Los Angeles and took a picture with her stage partner Vittorio Grigolo.

Roberto Alagna gave audiences an inside look into rehearsals of Cyrano de Bergerac which opens on May 2. He posted three videos including a sword fight.

Jamie Barton, who is currently preparing “Götterdämmerung” at the Houston Grand Opera, was at Revolution Hall where she saw a live taping of Dan Savage’s “Savage Lovecast.”
