By Francisco Salazar

It’s the weekend, which means that it is now time to take a look back at the week that was and see what opera’s biggest stars have been up to.

First up? Well none other than Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who announced via social media that she was recording her third album for Sony Classical. We wonder what that album will contain. Who is excited?

Hey! I am in Munich recording my new CD. Stay tuned 🎤 @sony.classical

Meanwhile, superstar diva Anna Netrebko was out and about at Carnegie Hall on her night off watching Maestro Valery Gergiev. And while she was there she had some time to catch up with her friend and colleague Plácido Domingo.

Elina Garanca shared some stills from the rehearsal room as the Metropolitan Opera gears up for a new production of “Der Rosenkavalier…”

…. and Luca Pisaroni showed pictures from the rehearsal room as he continues his tour with Thomas Hampson!

And to top it all off Nadine Sierra showed off a video from a Gondola in Venice as she prepares for La Fenice.

That’s right; I’m in Venezia! So excited to sing Lucia di Lammermoor here at @teatrolafenice 😍
