A cappella group Sjaella will headline a performance at the Boyd Music Series 2025.

The series is the result of a partnership between Bundanon and the Sydney Opera House, curated by Utzon Music Series Curator Genevieve Lacey.

Sjaella features the voices of six women, including Viola Blache, Marie Fenske, Franziska eberhardt, Marie Charlotte Siedel, Luisa Klose, and Helene Erben, who have performed together since they were children. On this occasion, the ensemble will present a program of works by Purcell, Janequin, and Caroline Shaw, and several traditional songs from Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Germany, and Finland. Capping the showcase will be a piece by Sydney-based composer Alice Chance.

The showcase is set for July 5, 2025.

“We are delighted to announce this ambitious new chamber music series at Bundanon, and we look forward to bringing the work of these incredible musicians to the Shoalhaven for the first time. Set within the award-winning Boyd Education Centre, with views of the mountains and river, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect setting for these captivating listening experiences,” said Rachel Kent, CEO, Bundanon, regarding the series which features four other showcases from May through November 2025.
