Famed bass-baritone Sir Bryne Terfel will perform as part of the Verbier Festival‘s first Shenzhen Verbier Festival on Feb. 7, 2026.

The showcase, which commences at 7:30 p.m. at the Shenzhen Longgang International Art Center, features music by Verdi, Boito, Gounod, Offenbach, Weill, Wagner, and Bock, among others. Gianluca Marchiano conducts.

The Shenzhen Verbier Festival will feature a total of 31 concerts and seven public masterclasses.

“With the Shenzhen Verbier Festival, the aim is not simply to present concerts abroad, but to extend a way of thinking about music,” said Martin Engstroem, Founder and Co-CEO of the Verbier Festival, regarding the organization’s expansion. “Bringing together great artists, young talents, and audiences in the same spirit of openness, exchange, and shared experience that has defined the Verbier Festival since its beginnings. From an exceptional alpine destination in Switzerland to one of Asia’s most forward-looking cities, the Shenzhen Verbier Festival is an invitation to dialogue, allowing a singular musical culture to engage in dialogue with a region shaping the future.”

Terfel will also perform at the 2026 Verbier Festival in a production of “Così fan tutte.”
