Sir. Bryn Tefrel has canceled his final performance on Jan. 27, 2020 of “The Flying Dutchman” at the Bilbao Opera.

The company announced that Terfel fell and fractured his right foot. As a result, Roman Ialcic will replace Terfel joining a cast that includes Manuela Uhl, Wilhelm Schwinghammer, and Kristian Benedikt.

Ialcic has performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Malmo Opera, Opéra de Toulon, Ópera de la Palmas, and Ópera de Bella Artes in Mexico.

Terfel is set to open a new production of “The Flying Dutchman” at the Metropolitan Opera in March and is still slated to sing a recital at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on Feb. 2, 2020.
