Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal Announces 2023-24 Season

The Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal has unveiled its 2023-24 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

The opening concert, entitled “Eine Kleine Nichtmusik” will feature soprano Juliana Zara and baritone Andrew Hamilton under conduct Patrick Hahn. The showcase features music by Mozart, Ligeti, and Haydn.

Performance Dates: Sept. 10 & 11, 2023

Patrick Hahn will conduct Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” with Julie Adams and Karen Cargill as the soloists.

Performance Dates: Nov. 19 & 20, 2023

Gregor Mayer will lead a performance of music by Mendelssohn and Gouvy with such osloists as Veronika Seghers, Silvia Rena Ziegler, Jonathan Winell, and Thomas Laske.

Performance Dates: Nov. 26, 2023

On Christmas Day, Thorsten Pech will lead music by Bach with such singers as Ina Yoshikawa, Iris Marie Sojer, André Khamasmie, and Simon Stricker. 

Performance Dates: Dec. 25, 2023

Thorsten Pech will lead the Johannes-Passion with the Konzertchor Wuppertal.

Performance Dates: March 29, 2024 

Soprano Dorothea Brandt will lead a performance of works by Mertens, Vaughan Williams, Schumann, Ravel, and Canteloube.

Performance Dates: April 29, 2024

Howard Arman leads Haydn’s “Die Schöpfung” with soprano Dorothea Brandt, tenor Georg Drake, and baritone Andreas Beinhauer.

Performance Dates: May 26, 2024
