Sinfónica de Tenerife General Director to Step Down

By Francisco Salazar

Daniel Broncano, General Director of the Sinfónica de Tenerife is set to leave his post for personal reasons at the end of the season.

In a statement he said, “For purely personal reasons, I have decided to end my work with the Sinfónica de Tenerife. It is my wish to return to live on the Spanish mainland and start a family. There are still at least four months of intense (now more than ever) work ahead for and with our orchestra. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at the Tenerife Island Music Board, proud of this treasure that is the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, both before and after my arrival,” he added.

Broncano, who assumed the position in 2023, has seen the orchestra has strengthened its activity, impact, and reach with a notable increase in audiences. The orchestra has also performed in Santander, Pollença, and Musika-Música Bilbao festivals. Furthermore, new chamber music series and programs for young audiences have been launched under his leadership.
