Sinfonica De Galicia Announces 2019-20 Season

The Sinfonia Nacional de Galicia has announced its 2019-20 season. For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on the vocal or opera-related concerts. Here is a look:

The Compania Nacional is set to present “Carmen” in a ballet version using the music of Bizet and Rodion Shchedrin.

Performance Dates: Nov. 22 & 23, 2020

Gian Battista Pergolesi/Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Stabat Mater” is set to be presented with soloists Marianne Beate Kielland, Jone Martinez, Juan Antonio Sanabria, and Jose Antonio Lopez. Carlos Mena will conduct the program, which also includes Bach’s Magnificat.

Performance Date: Jan. 10 & 11, 2020

Dima Slobodeniouk conducts Viktoria Mullova and Marie Henriette Reinhold in a program that includes music by Beethoven and Schubert.

Performance Date: May 4, 2020

The season will also see a number of important soloists and guest conductors performing alongside the symphony.
