Simone Schneider, Francesca Aspromonte, Matthew Polenzani, Johannes Kammler, Elizabeth DeShong Headline Staatsoper Stuttgart’s 2024-25 Season

Staatsoper Stuttgart has announced its 2024-25 season.

First up is a production of “Der Freischütz” starring Johannes Kammler, Franz Hawlata, Natasha Te Rupe Wilson, and Kai Kluge. Cornelius Meister and Luka Hauser conduct a production by Achim Freyer.

Performance Dates: Sept. 18 – Nov. 8, 2024

Pavel Yankovsky, Elizabeth DeShong, Rodrigo Porras Gaulo, and Atalla Ayan headline “Il Trovatore.” Valerio Galli and Vlad Iftinca conduct and Paul-Georg Dittrich directs.

Performance Dates: Sept. 21 – Nov. 22, 2025

The company presents the Stuttgart premiere of “Sancta.” The performance features Andrea Baker, Annina Machaz, Blathin Echkhardt, Caroline Melzer, Emma Rothmann, Fibi Eyewalker, Jasko Fide, and Laura London. Marit Strindlund conducts and Florentina Holzinger directs.

Performance Dates: Oct. 5 – Nov. 3, 2024

Simone Schneider takes on the title role of “Salome” alongside a cast featuring Gerhard Siegel, Sophie Koch, and Luis Hergón. Thomás Hanus conducts and Kirill Serebrennikov directs.

Performance Dates: Oct. 13 – Nov. 16, 2024

“Hotel Savoy” will feature Gábor Biedermann, Boris Burgstaller, Josefin Feiler, and Moritz Kallenberg. Andreas Schett directs conducts a production by Corinna von Rad.

Performance Dates: Oct. 19, 2024 – Feb. 28, 2025

Adam Palka, Goran Juric, Charles Sy, Joseph Tancredi, Alma Ruoqi Suhn, Beate Ritter, Claudia Muschio,  and Natasha Te Rupe Wilson star in “Die Zauberflöte.” José Luis Gutierrez and Vlad Iftinca lead the Suzanne Andrade and Barrie Kosky production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 25, 2024 – April 27, 2025

Tenor Matthias Klink performs an orchestral version of “Winterreise” conducted by Stefan Schrieber and directed by Aernouot Mik.

Mozart’s “Idomeneo” will star Diana Haller, Francesca Aspromonte, Ida Ränzlöv, and Aleksander Myrling. Cornelius Meister conducts and Bastian Kraft directs.

Michael Mayes, Esther Dierkes, Maria Theresa Ullrich, and Stine Marie Fischer headline “Casanova.” Cornelius Meister and Luka Hauser conduct a production by Marco Storman.

Performance Dates: Dec. 22, 2024  – Feb. 8, 2025

Olga Busuiouc, Atalla Ayan, and Lucio Gallo star in “Tosca.” Alevtina Ioffe conducts the Willy Decker production.

Goran Juric, Ausrine Stundyte, Daniel Brenna, and Rosie Aldridge star in “The Gambler.” Nicholas Carter conducts the Axel Ranisch production.

Matthias Klink and Pawel Konik headline “Death in Venice” with Duncan Ward conducting Demis Volpi’s production.

Esther Dierkes and Reflektra alternate the title role of “Rusalka” with Kai Kluge, Diana Haller, Goran Juric, Adam Palka, and Alexander Cameltoe headlining the cast. Oksana Lyniv and Luka Hauser conduct Bastian Kraft’s production.

”Der Räuber Hotzenplotz” features Franz Hawlata, Maria Theresa Ullrich, Jasper Leever, and Elliott Carlton HInes. Sebastian Schwab cconducts his own opera in a production by Elena Tzavara.

Claudia Muschio, Natasha Te Rupe Wilson, Diana Haller, and Yuriy Mnenko star in “La Fest,” conducted by Benjamin Bayl.

Performance Dates: Feb. 22 – June 21, 2025

Josefin Feiler, Shannon Keegan, Dominic Große, Maria Theresa Ullrich, Stephan Bootz, and Elliott Carlton Hines star in “Dora.” Elena Schwarz conducts the Elisabeth Stöppler production.

Performance Dates: March 3 – April 8, 2025

David Steffens, Samuel Sakker, Rosie Aldridge, and Peter Lobert star in “Parsifal.” Cornelius Meister directs the Calixto Bieito production.

Performance Dates: April 6 – May 11, 2025

Michele Gamba conducts Ulrike Schwab’s production of “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.” Alisa Kolosova, Elmar Gilbertsson, Joshua Bloom, and Rachael Wilson headline the cast.

Performance Dates: April 16 – May 9, 2025

Matthew Polenzani and Arsen Soghomonyan take on the title role of Verdi’s “Otello.” They are joined by Esther Dierkes as Desdemona and Daniel Miroslaw as Iago. Stefano Montanari conducts the Silvia Costa production.

Performance Dates: May 18 – July 18, 2024

“Die Rote Wal” will be conducted by Keren Kagarlitsky and directed by Martin G. Berger. Matthias Klink, Josefin Feiler, Maechkes, and Stine Marie Fischer lead the cast.
