Simon Keenlyside, Sarah Connolly, Elizabeth Llewellyn & Christian Gerhaher Highlight Wigmore Hall’s Fall 2020 Season

Wigmore Hall has announced the full slate for the 2020 fall season. For the purpose of this article, we will focus on the vocal works only.

All the concerts will be live-streamed on the Wigmore Hall’s website in HD. Here is the rundown.

Baritone Christian Gerhaher and the pianist Gerold Huber will perform works by Franz Schubert and Alban Berg.

Performance date: September 13, 2020

The second event in the lineup of vocal performances will star the famed mezzo-soprano Dame Sarah Connolly. Malcolm Martineau will be at the piano. The program is yet to be announced.

Baritone Florian Boesch will perform with pianist Malcolm Martineau. The program will be announced at a later date.

Performance date: September 17, 2020

Soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn will perform works by Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Simon Lepper will perform at the piano.

Performance date: September 23, 2020

Soprano Carolyn Sampson and the lutenist Matthew Wadsworth present a program of works by John Dowland, Robert Johnson, Henry Purcell, and Laura Snowden.

Performance date: September 25, 2020

Bass-baritone Gerald Finley will perform music by Gabriel Fauré, Henri Duparc, Samuel Barber, Charles Edward Ives, Harold Arlen, and Cole Porter. Julius Drake will be at the piano.

Tenor Ian Bostridge will perform with the pianist Imogen Cooper. The program will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Sabine Devieilhe will perform with pianist Alexandre Tharaud. The program will be announced at a later date.

Tenor Robin Tritschler will perform with pianist Graham Johnson. The program will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Louise Alder and the pianist Roger Vignoles will present works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Alban Berg, Georges Bizet, Francis Poulenc, and Erik Satie.

Mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa will perform with pianist Alphonse Cemin. The program will be announced at a later date.

Bass-baritone Ashley Riches and the pianist Sholto Kynoch will present works by Antonín Dvořák, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, and Charles Edward Ives.

Tenor Allan Clayton will present a program with works by Priaulx Rainier, Henry Purcell, William Croft, Pelham Humfrey, and Benjamin Britten. James Baillieu will be at the piano.

Soprano Katharina Konradi will perform with pianist Joseph Middleton. The program will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Claron McFadden will perform with pianist Alexander Melnikov. The program will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Lucy Crowe will perform with pianists Connie Shih and Alasdair Beatson. Steven Isserlis will play the cello, Alina Ibragimova will play the violin, and Timothy Ridout will play the viola. The program will be announced at a later date.

Tenor James Gilchrist will perform with pianist Anna Tilbrook in a program that will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Mary Bevan and the pianist Joseph Middleton will present works by Hugo Wolf, Joseph Haydn, and Franz Schubert.

Soprano Sarah Fox, mezzo-soprano Kitty Whately, and tenor Alessandro Fisher will perform with pianist Joseph Middleton. The program will be announced at a later date.

Tenor Nicky Spence will perform with pianist Julius Drake. The program will be announced at a later date.

Mezzo-soprano Christine Rice will perform with pianist Julius Drake. The program will be announced at a later date.

The next vocal event will showcase soprano Fatma Said. The program will be announced at a later date.
