Silvia Frigato & Heather Newhouse Lead the 2024 Festival Barocco Alessandro Stradella

The Festival Barocco Alessandro Stradella has announced its line up for the 2024 season.

Opening the festival, artistic director Andrea De Carlo leads the Ensemble Mare Nostrum in Stradella’s oratorio “San Giovanni Battista.” Soloist are sopranos Silvia Frigato and Dorota Szczepańska, countertenor Danilo Pastore, tenor Roberto Manuel Zangari, and bass Masashi Tomosugi.

This performance will be recording in preparation to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the piece’s premiere in Rome. The recording will be released in 2025.

Soprano Heather Newhouse stars in “Baroque Au Feminin.” The concert features music by Barbara Strozzi, Antonia Bembo, and Francesca Caccini.

Tenor Pino de Vittorio performs alongside guitarist Marcello Vitale in “The Tarantellas Of Remorse.”

Performance Date: September 13, 2024

“Maxentius 2035,” Stradella y-project’s of compiling the complete work by Domenico Massenzio is presented under the leadership of Andrea De Carlo.
