On June 4, 2020 the Seville Cathedral will honor the victims of COVID-19 in a funeral performing Mozart’s Requiem.

José Carlos Carmona will conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica Hispalense and Chorus of the Universidad de Sevilla with soloists Rocío de Frutos, José Carrión, Vicente Bujalance, and Luciano Miotti.

Entrance will be free but there will be a limit of 600 people with many of the seats reserved to the families of the victims and authorities.

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, Spain was one of the hardest hit countries in the world. The country has thus far reported 287,406 COVID-19 cases and 27,128 confirmed deaths.

Spain has slowly begun its reopening phase and has announced that a number of music festivals will be performed this summer including ones in San Sebastian, Granada, and Pamplona.
