Seth Carico Takes Over ‘Don Giovanni’ at De Nationale Opera

Bass-baritone Seth Carico will take over the title role in Mozart‘s operatic masterwork “Don Giovanni” at De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam, replacing baritone Domen Križaj.

Carico joins a cast that includes Adrian Sâmpetrean in the role of Leporello, Adela Zaharia as Donna Anna, Amanda Majeski as Donna Elvira, Long Long in the role of Don Ottavio, Rafał Siwek as Il Commendatore, Frederik Bergman as Masetto, and Lilian Farahani as Zerlina. Jérémie Rhorer conducts a production by Claus Guth.

Carico is a well-known bass-baritone who has performed at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatstheater Hannover, Theater Basel, Oper Leipzig, and Staatsoper Hamburg, among others. The bass-baritone is slated to make his Dallas Opera debut in Jonathan Dove’s opera “Flight” in March 2022.

Domen Križaj will perform the role of Der Wirt in the Humperdinck’s opera “Königskinder” at the Oper Frankfurt in November 2021.

The run of “Don Giovanni” at De Nationale opera is set to begin on Nov. 4, and will last until Nov. 28, 2021.
