Sesto Quatrini Replaces Fabio Luisi In Martina Franca

The Festival Valle d’Itra in Martina Franca has announced a cast change for its premiere of Antonio Manfroce’s “Ecuba.”

The festival announced that due to illness Fabio Luisi will not be able to conduct the performance. As a result, Sesto Quatrini will conduct the two performances scheduled for July 30 and August 4, 2019.

Quatrini is a well-established conductor who has conducted at the Teatro La Fenice, Oper Frankfurt,  Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and Lithuanian Opera, among others. He has also conducted at the Festival Valle d’Itra in the rarely works, Verdi’s “Un Giorno di Regno” di Verdi, Vaccaj’s “Giulietta e Romeo,” and Offenbach’s “Coscoletto.”

The opera is set to star Norman Reinhardt, Mert Süngü, Lidia Fridman, Carmela Remigio, Roberta Mantegna, Martina Gresia, Lorenzo Izzo, and Nile Senatore.
