
Serena Sáenz, Leonor Bonilla, Emöke Baráth, Airam Hernández & Pablo García López Lead Ópera de Tenerife’s 2026-27 Season

Ópera en minúscula
The season opens with “Luciérnaga” by Gabriela Ortiz. Ludwig Carrasco conducts the Classical Laguna Experience Orchestra, and César Martín will direct the production starring Carmen Acosta and Javier Santos.
Performance Date: Sept. 12, 2026
The second work will be “Svadba (La boda)” by Ana Sokolović in a production by Aixa Guerra.
Performance Date: Sept. 19, 2026
Péter Eötvös’ “The golden dragon” will be conducted by Jordi Francés and directed by Bárbara Lluch. Natalia Labourdette stars.
Performance Dates: Sept. 25 & 26, 2026
The final opera in cycle will be “La clausura del amor” by de Reyes Otero. Ricardo Campelo directs the production starring Ruth González and Enrique Sánchez-Ramos.

The season opens with Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” with Pablo González conducting a production by Marta Pazos. The cast will include Leonor Bonilla, Jan Antem, José Antonio López, Lianna Haroutounian, and Rafael Quiran.

Airam Hernández, Miren Urbieta-Vega, Anna Hofmann, Olafur Sigurdarson, and Vazgen Gazaryan star in Wagner’s “Lohengrin.” Paul Daniel conducts the production by Guillermo Amaya.
Performance Dates: Nov. 15-21, 2026
“Tránsito” by Jesús Torres will star Carmen Artaz, Isaac Galán, María Miró, Toni Marsol, and Pablo García López. Jordi Francés conducts the production by Carles Alfaro.
Performance Dates: Dec. 4 & 5, 2026
Händel’s “Orlando” will be directed by Rafael Villalobos and conducted by Daniel Espasa. The cast includes Xavier Sabata, Emöke Baráth, Sabina Puértolas, and Anna Bonitatibus.
Performance Dates: Jan. 21 & 23, 2027
Fernando Campero, Serena Sáenz, Lucie Peyramaur, Zachary McCulloch, Nicolas Courjal and Javier Castañeda lead “Hamlet” by Ambroise Thomas. Nicola Berloffa directs and Seok-Won Hong conducts.
Performance Dates: March 7-13, 2027
Britten’s “Owen Wingrave” will star Nikolay Borchev, Ian Bostridge, Javier Castañeda, and Alexandra Urquiola with David Greilsammer conducting the production by Emiliano Suárez.
Performance Dates: April 16 & 17, 2027
Thomas Adès’ “Powder Her Face” will be conducted by Alessandro Palumbo in a production by Nicola Beller Carbone. The production stars Sally Matthews, Meghan Picerno and Vazgen Gazaryan.
Performance Dates: May 15 & 16, 2027
The season closes with the zarzuela “El orgullo de quererte” by Javier Carmena. Albert Boadella and Martina Cabanas direct, while Alondra de la Parra conducts. The cast includes Enrique Viana, Santiago Ballerini, Germán Olvera, María Rey-Joly, Mar Morán, Andrea Rey, Berna Perles, Gerardo López, Jesús Cantolla, and Daniel González.
