Semperoper Dresden to Revive David Bösch’s ‘Nabucco’ Production
By David SalazarFor the first time since 2019, the Semperoper Dresden is set to bring back Verdi’s “Nabucco.”
The revival of David Bösch’s production will star ensemble member Markus Marquardt in the title role. He will be joined by Ewa Plonka in her Dresden debut as Abigaile. Other cast members include Christa Mayer and Pavol Breslik as Fenena and Ismaele, respectively. Rounding out the cast will be Vitalij Kowaljow as Zaccaria.
Jordi Bernàcer conducts the early Verdi work. There will be an introduction to the opera 45 minutes prior to the performance.
The opera will run open on May 29, 2023 and runs through June 24, 2023 for a total of seven performances.
