Semperoper Dresden Announces Two Cast Changes

The Semperoper Dresden has announced two cast changes for its Jan. 2, 2019 performance of “La Traviata.”

The company announced that tenor Pavol Breslik will sing the role of Alfredo filling in for Renè Barbera, who was originally scheduled to sing.

Baritone Antonio Yang will also return to the role of Giorgio Germont after performing two shows on Dec. 31.

This is the latest of cast changes in the company’s “Traviata.” On New Year’s Eve, the Semperoper announced several cast changes including two different Alfredos and a new Flora.

“La Traviata” is set to run through Jan. 19, 2019 and will also star Ekaterina Bakanova in the title role, Wookjung Kim as Alfredo, and Antonio Yang as Germont.
