Semperoper Dresden Announces Cast Changes For ‘La Traviata’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced cast changes for its revival of Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

The company announced that Katerina Tretyakova will sing Violetta on Nov. 9, 15, 20, 22 and 27, replacing Iulia Maria Dan. Meanwhile, Menna Cazel will sing Annina on Nov. 9 and 15, replacing Birgit Fandrey while Sejong Chang will sing Marchese d’Obigny on Nov. 9, replacing Alexandros Stavrakakis.

Tretyakova is an ensemble member of Hamburg State Opera and has appeared in the of roles of Lucia in “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Gilda in “Rigoletto,” Adina in “L’ Elisir d’Amore,” Adele in “Die Fledermaus,” Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro,” Pamina in “Die Zauberflöte,” Musetta in “La Bohème,” Nannetta in “Falstaff,” and Gretel in “Hänsel und Gretel.” This season she appears in Graz, Berlin, Dusseldorf, and Paris.

Tretyakova joins a cast that includes Liparit Avetisyan and Christoph Pohl with Stefano Ranzani conducting.
