Semperoper Dresden Announces Cast Change In ‘Die Zauberflöte’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its upcoming performances of “Die Zauberflöte.”

The company announced that Tania Lorenzo will sing Papagena in the performances of “Die Zauberflöte” on Sept. 5 and 7, replacing Christiane Hossfeld.

Lorenzo has performed at the Teatro alla Moda, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro Pérez Galdós, Auditorio Adán Martín and Schinkelhalle Postdam.

Her repertoire includes Taumann and Sandmann in “Hänsel und Gretel,” Frasquita in “Carmen,” Hirt in “Tannhäuser,” Esmeralda in “The Bartered Bride,” and Erste Jungfrau in “Moses und Aron.” The Spanish soprano is set to perform with the Semperoper Dresden later this season in “Das Rätsel der gestohlenen Stimmen”

Lorenzo joins a cast that includes Georg Zeppenfeld, Tuuli Takala, Magdalena Risberg, Martin Mitterrutzner, and Bernhard Hansky. Patrick Lange conducts the production.

Performances of “Die Zauberflöte” are set for November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, and July with various casts.
