The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its April 15 performance of “Don Giovanni.”

The company noted that Nicole Car will step in for Anita Hartig as Donna Elvira.

Car is well-known for her interpretation of Elvira, which she has performed at the Paris Opera and Opera Australia. The soprano has also performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Bayerische Staatsoper, among others. Her repertoire includes Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Mozart, Puccini, Bizet, and Lehar.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Lucas Meachem in the title role, Tilmann Rönnebeck, Tuuli Takala, Joel Prieto, Erwin Schrott, Lawson Anderson, and Anke Vondung. Omer Meir Wellber conducts the production by Andreas Kriegenburg.
