Semperoper Dresden Announces Cast Change for ‘Così Fan Tutte’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced that Soprano Francesca Dotto will replace soprano Iulia Maria Dan in the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart and Da Ponte’s “Così Fan Tutte” on Feb. 11, 21 and 24, 2020.

Dotto recently performed the roles of Violetta in Verdi’s “La Traviata,” Liù in Puccini’s “Turandot” and Donna Anna in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Teatro la Fenice. She also performed a production of “Luisa Miller” at the Teatro Regio di Parma. This season she sings in a production of “Lucrezia Borgia” at the Teatro Dante Alighieri.

Dotto will join a cast that includes Jana Kurucová, Ute Selbig, Joseph Dennis, Lawson Anderson and Martin-Jan Nijhof. Georg Fritzsch is set to conduct the production by Andreas Kriegenburg.

Iulia Maria Dan returns to the stage for a run of Rameau’s  “Platée” in the role of Thalie/Clarine on April 8, 2020.
