Seattle Opera has announced the lineup for its 60th anniversary concert “Windows from the Past, Doors to the Future.”

The event, scheduled for one night only on May 11, 2023 at McCaw Hall, will feature Greer Grimsley as both co-host and singer. He is joined by Ginger Costa-Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Williams, Sarah Coburn, John Moore, Duke Kim, Amitai Pati, and Michael J. Hawk. Audiences will hear music by Verdi, Wagner, Mozart, and Puccini, among others. The soloists are joined by the Seattle Opera Chorus and Seattle Symphony. Kazem Abdullah conducts.

The event will be co-hosted by Christina Scheppelmann, the fourth General Director in the company’s history.

“This concert is a chance to reflect on 60 exciting years of opera in this city and to honor the wonderful relationship that has flourished between Seattle Opera and our community,” said Scheppelmann in an official press statement issued by the company. “Rarely do you get the chance to hear such a variety of incredible artists together on one program, especially ones like these who sing vastly different repertoires. I hope you will enjoy this beautiful evening that is made for you, our wonderful supporters, who have built Seattle Opera into the company it is today. You’re in for a thrill—at this concert and for many more years to come.”

The concert kicks off at 4 p.m. local time.
