The Scottish Opera has announced the world premiere of a new short film, “The Narcissistic Fish,” the company’s first-ever purely digital opera.

The company announced via social media that the work is a collaboration between Scottish Opera Composer-in-Residence Samuel Bordoli, Scottish poet and author Jenni Fagan (“The Panoptican”), and the company’s in-house filmmaker Antonia Bain.

The work will be available to view online starting on June 18, 2020.

The film features 2019-20 Emerging Artists and tells the story of a fiery relationship between three young chefs, whose passions come to a head after a difficult evening in the Leith restaurant of the title.

“The Narcissistic Fish” will be available on June 18 for free with more information in the coming weeks.
