
Schmidt Vocal Arts Announces 2025-26 Georgia Regional Competition Winners
By David SalazarSchmidt Vocal Arts has announced the results of its 2025-26 Georgia Regional Competition, held at Georgia State University on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Olivia Scott of Buford, Georgia took first place, followed by Mallory Goddard of Stuart, Florida in second and Nik Epstein of Aberdeen, North Carolina in third. The three top prizewinners received awards of $2,500, $2,000, and $1,500 respectively and will advance to SVA’s National Competition in May 2026.
The jury was composed of baritone Weston Hurt, soprano Caitlin Lynch of the University of Michigan, and pianist Samuel Martin, Director of Vocal Studies at The Hartt School.
Ten singers advanced to the final round, each receiving a $250 award. Encouragement Awards of $100 were presented to Miguel Alicea, Jr. of New World School of the Arts, Elizabeth Clegg of Fine Arts Center in Greer, South Carolina, and Kingston Goodgame of Alabama School of Fine Arts. Scott also received the Most Promising Sophomore award.
The full list of finalists included Victoria Acosta Colon, Harrison Bieschke, Chloe Bremer, Nik Epstein, Mallory Goddard, Kingston Goodgame, Brennan Antoinette Odom, Josephine Packard, Samantha Ralston, and Olivia Scott.
