Saskatoon Opera Announces New General Director

The Saskatoon Opera has announced its new General Director. 

The Canadian company announced that after an extensive search process that began in 2018, it has appointed Spencer McKnight to the position of General Director.

McKnight has been involved with Saskatoon Opera as a volunteer since 2013 and has previously served on the board for many years and held the position of President.

McKnight was the interim Executive Director during a position redesign and search and is also a nationally recognized tenor who has performed with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.

Saskatoon Opera was formed in 1978 and has presented such works as “La Bohème,” “King Arthur,” “Don Pasquale,” “Carmen,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Don Giovanni,” “La Bohème,” and “Die Fledermaus,” among other standard repertoire pieces.
