
Sasha Cooke, Heidi Stober, David Portillo, J’Nai Bridges & Jarrett Ott Lead Seattle Opera’s 2025-26 Season

The season opens with Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.” The cast includes Reginald Smith, Jr. as the Pirate King, Thomas Glass as Major-General Stanley, David Portillo as Frederic, Vanessa Becerra as Mabel, and Katharine Goeldner as Ruth. David Charles Abell will conduct Sean Curran’s production.
Performance Dates: Oct. 18-Nov. 1, 2025
Strauss’ “Daphne” will be performed in concert with Heidi Stober in the title role, David Butt Philip as Apollo, and Melody Wilson as Gaea. David Afkham conducts.
Performance Dates: Jan. 16 & 18, 2026
Gregory Spears’ “Fellow Travelers” will be performed with Andres Acosta and Colin Aikins as Timothy and Joseph Lattanzi and Jarrett Ott share the role of Hawkins. Amber R. Monroe also stars. Kevin Newbury directs the production and Patrick Summers conducts.
Performance Dates: Feb. 21-March 1, 2026
Bizet’s “Carmen” closes out the season with Ludovic Morlot conducting. The opera will star Sasha Cooke and J’Nai Bridges in the title role, Matthew Cairns and Ryan Capozza as Don José, Kathleen O’Mara as Micaëla, and Christian Pursell and Benjamin Taylor as Escamillo. Paul Curran is the director.

Concerts
Patricia Racette will perform an Edith Piaf showcase.
Performance Date: Nov. 22, 2025
“Gay Apparel” will be hosted by tenor John Marzano who will showcase his drag persona, Anita Spritzer.
