SAS Performing Arts Concert Opera Announces Winter 2023 Slate

SAS Performing Arts Concert Opera has unveiled its two upcoming performances.

First up is Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” at Chris and St. Stephen’s Church in New York City.

The performance will star mezzo-soprano Sophie Delphis as Cenerentola and tenor Ai Ra as Prince Ramiro. Playing the wicked Stepsisters are soprano Yuxin Zhou as Clorinda and mezzo Monica Camafreita as Tisbe with bass Alexander Adams-Leytes as Dr. Bartolo, baritone Andrew Wanigman as Dandini, and bass Muir Ingliss as Alidoro. Rounding out the cast is Paul Fraccalvieri as the Storyteller.

Performance Date: Feb. 12, 2023 

Then, SAS Performing Arts Concert Opera will present Puccini’s “Il Triticco.” Rebecca Kidnie will appear as Giorgetta in “Il Tabarro” and as “Suor Angelica.” Juyong Ma wil take on the roles of Suor Genovieffa and Lauretta. Tichina Vaughn will appear as La Zia Principessa in “Suor Angelica” and as Frugola in “Il Tabarro” while Samuel White will be Luigi in “Il Tabarro.” Geoffrey Di Giorgio will interpret the roles of Michele in “Il Tabarro” and Gianni Schicchi in the final opera of the trilogy. Other cast members include Virdell Williams, Douglas Sabo, Brian J. Alvarado, Muir Ingliss, Theodor Schulmann, and Shanley Horvitz.

Performance Date: March 12, 2023
