By David Salazar

The Sarasota Youth Opera has announced that Conner Stigner will be its new Youth Opera Coordinator.

In his new role, Stigner will provide administrative support for the company’s programs and performances as well as engage in educational and outreach activities. He will also organize rehearsal schedules, work as an accompanist, and be a liaison to the organization’s parents and parent volunteers.

The Sarasota Youth Opera is set to participate in a production of Puccini’s “Tosca,” which is set to open on Feb. 12. That presentation will feature a children’s chorus comprised of members of the Sarasota Youth Opera.

“Conner brings a diverse array of interests and experiences to our Youth Opera program, and we are excited to welcome him to our community,” said Jesse Martins, Music Director of Sarasota Youth Opera, in an official statement.

Stigner is the former Director of Music and Liturgy at Our Lady of Hungary Parish in South Bend, Indiana, and has worked with South Bend Symphonic Choir.
