Sarasota Opera has received a $60,000 Arts Appreciation Grant from the Wiliam S. and Jean W. Scott Endowed Fund at Gulf Coast Community Foundation in support of its 2023-24 season.

“Gulf Coast Community Foundation has been one of the most generous and longtime supporters of Sarasota Opera. They have always recognized the importance of our arts and cultural sector and we are grateful for this generous support,” said Richard Russell, the Sarasota Opera’s General Director, in an official press statement.

Not only will the grant be used for the 2023-24 season, but the Gulf Coast Community Foundation will be recognized as the sponsor of the 2024 Winter Opera Festival, Curtain Raiser Dinner, and the annual gala scheduled for Feb. 3, 2024.

Sarasota Opera’s 2023-24 season kicks off with “The Music of Giacomo Puccini” on Nov. 10, 2023.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation has provided over $510 million in grants to organizations in health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment. The Foundation was named one of the “Best Nonprofits to Work for” in 2010, 2011, 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2023, per The NonProfit Times.
