Sarasota Opera has received a $30,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County in support of its Sarasota Youth Opera and education programs, as well as the company’s annual Aficionado Dinner.

The funding will support programs designed to expand access to arts education and live opera experiences for young people, families and educators throughout Sarasota County.

The grant will also support “Rootabaga Country,” Sarasota Youth Opera’s 2026 fall production, as well as “Invitation to Opera,” “Youth Opera Matinees,” “Artists in Schools,” “Opera House Tours,” and access to Winter Opera Festival dress rehearsals.

Finally, a portion of the funding will support Sarasota Opera’s “Aficionado Dinner,” an annual stewardship event for Leadership donors whose contributions help the company produce opera and expand its community programming.

Sarasota Opera is currently in its 68th season and is celebrating the centennial of the historic Sarasota Opera House.
