Sarasota Opera Presents ‘Voices’ Concert

By David Salazar

Sarasota Opera is set to present a special concert on March 20, 2022.

Entitled “Voices of Sarasota Opera,” the showcase will celebrate Artistic Director Victor DeRenzi’s 40th anniversary with the company. Audiences in attendance will see Principal Artists, Studio and Apprentice Artists, the Sarasota Youth Opera, and the Sarasota Opera Orchestra under the musical director of Jesse Martins.

The concert will include selections from such noted operas as “Turandot,” “La Cenerentola,” and “Carmen,” among others. And for the first time in North American, there will be a presentation of ballet music for “Nabucco,” as well as the famed chorus “Va, pensiero,” under the musical direction of DeRenzi.

The event precedes a production of “Attila” and follows performances of “The Daughter of the Regiment” and “The Pearl Fishers.”
