Sarasota Opera recently launched “Opera Mobile,” a unique opera experience in which the company’s artists hit the road to bring opera to the people.

Among the singers involved in the test run on June 30, 2020 were baritone Alexander Boyd and soprano Hanna Brammer with Jesse Martins at the piano. The duo performed selections from “Faust,” “La Rondine,” “La Wally,” “Carmen” and “Don Giovanni,” in front of the Sarasota Opera House, the Ritz Carlton, and other Suncoast Neighborhoods.

“Nothing like a live performance, which normally you hear inside the opera house, and we’re not live cause we have microphones,” Artistic Director Victor DeRenzi said in an interview with SNN News. “But, we’re as close to live as you can get.”

The company’s final live performance took place on March 12, 2020.
