Sarasota Opera Appoint Cameron Maxwell as Youth Opera Coordinator

By Logan Martell

Sarasota Opera has announced the appointment of Cameron Maxwell as their new Youth Opera Coordinator.

In this role, Maxwell will be the administrator for SYO programs and performances, as well as the liaison for parents and the community. An Orlando native, Maxwell has experience as a performer and stage director; after graduating from Flagler College, she worked in the development and marketing department of St. John’s Cultural Council, which provides aid to arts and cultural organizations. After co-founding a summer camp with neighborhood kids, she turned her focus toward working with children.

“Being involved in the whole process of developing arts opportunities for children felt natural and like something I could do successfully and joyfully for the rest of my life,” said Maxell in a press release. “The programs and productions at Sarasota Youth Opera provide wonderful opportunities for the children to immerse themselves in the arts, and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Currently, in its winter semester, the Sarasota Youth Opera will be held in June, offering children the chance to participate in fully-staged productions, concerts, and more.
