
Sarasota Opera Announces 2025-26 Season

Fall Season
The season opens with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.” The production will continue the partnership between Sarasota Opera and the Sarasota Orchestra. The opera will star Hanna Brammer, Olivia Vote, Luke Norvell, Filippo Fontana, Virginia Mims, and Jake Stamatis. Victor DeRenzi conducts and Stephanie Sundine.
Performance Dates: Oct. 31-Nov. 15, 2025
Sarasota Youth Opera will present a revival of its acclaimed production of “Brundibár“ by Hans Krása.
Performance Dates: Nov. 8 & 9, 2025
Winter Festival
Puccini’s “La bohème” opens the winter season. Ashley Milanese, Woo Young Yoon, Filippo Fontana, Virginia Mims, Young Bok Kim, Brian Kontes, and Hans Tashjian star. Victor DeRenzi conducts and Stephanie Sundine directs.
Performance Dates: Feb. 14-28, 2026
Lehár’s “The Merry Widow” will be performed in an English translation. The cast includes Raquel González, Jake Stamatis, Patrick Bessenbacher, and Sara Kennedy. Anthony Barrese conducts and Katherine M. Carter directs.
Performance Dates: Feb. 21-March 27, 2026
Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” gets seven performances during the season with a cast starring Aviva Fortunata, Victor Starsky, Lisa Chavez, Ricardo José Rivera, and Young Bok Kim. Victor DeRenzi conducts and Marco Nisticò directs.
Performance Dates: March 7-29, 2026
Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah” will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Carlisle Floyd’s birth. The cast includes Hanna Brammer, Jeremy Brauner, Jason Zacher, and Brian Kontes. Jessé Martins conducts and Martha Collins directs.
Performance Dates: March 14-28, 2026
The company will present a gala event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Sarasota Opera House. The event will include a concert on the stage of the Opera House, followed by a dinner celebration at Michael’s on the Bay at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
