Sara Jakubiak & Brian Jagde Lead Stream of ‘Das Wunder Der Heliane’ From Deutsche Oper Berlin

Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced that it will stream the 2018 production of Korngold’s operatic masterwork “Das Wunder der Heliane” between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21, 2021, on its official website.

The opera, which was recorded on the DVD on the NAXOS label, stars Brian Jagde, Josef Wagner, Okka von Damerau, Derek Welton, Gideon Poppe, Burkhard Ulrich, Andrew Dickinson, Dean Murphy, Thomas Florio, Clemens Bieber, Philipp Jekal, Stephen Bronk, Sandra Hamaoui, Meechot Marrero, and American soprano Sara Jakubiak in the title role.

Sara Jakubiak is currently rehearsing in Berlin for the premiere of Zandonai’s opera “Francesca da Rimini” at the Deutsche Oper. The soprano is also scheduled to perform the role of Elsa von Brabant in Wagner’s “Lohengrin” at the Wiener Staatsoper in June 2021, before taking on the role of Elisabeth in “Tannhäuser” at the LA Opera in October 2021.

Brian Jagde is slated to interpret the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini’s “Tosca” alongside Sondra Radvanovsky at the Metropolitan Opera House in December 2021.
