The Atlanta Opera will open its 2019-20 season with Rossini’s “La Cenerentola.”

The production, directed by Spanish director Joan Font, will star rising star and Atlanta Opera favorite Santiago Ballerini, Emily Fons in the title role, Thomas Glass, Dale Travis, and Alan Higgs. Dean Williamson will conduct the comic gem.

In a press release, Tomer Zvulum, Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. General and Artistic Director at The Atlanta Opera, said, “Musically, ‘La Cenerentola’ is full of fireworks, acrobatic vocal lines and witty, musical surprises by Rossini. We are bringing to Atlanta a well-traveled, world-class production by a Spanish directing team led by Joan Font. A great bel canto opera is never complete without an outstanding cast of singers and that’s exactly what we have in store.”

“La Cenerentola” is set to be performed on Nov. 2, 5, 8 and 10 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
