Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra will present “South American Heat” on Nov. 15 and 16, 2025.

The program includes Camargo Guarnieri’s “Three Brazilian Dances,” “Primavera Porteña” from Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,” Piazzolla’s “Oblivion,” Copland’s “El Salon México,” and Antonio Estévez’s “Cantata Criolla.”

The showcase will be headlined by tenor Santiago Ballerini and baritone Gustavo Castillo.

“The Cantata Criolla is a piece with a strong Latin American identity, a score that makes you want to dance. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the richness of our music and culture, and as a Latino singer, I feel both proud and honored to be part of this project,” said Ballerini, who will be making his Michigan debut, in an official press release.

Also on the program will be the Grand Rapids Ballet.

Both showcases will take place at the DeVos Performance Hall.
