Santa Fe Pro Musica Receives NEA Grant

Santa Fe Pro Musica has received a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA).

The grant will support the company’s opening concert “I Hear America Singing” on Sept. 29, 2024 at 3 p.m. at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.

The showcase will feature music by Vivaldi, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Eric Jacobsen with singer and songwriter Magos Herrera among the performers.

“Projects like Santa Fe Pro Musica’s Season Opening Orchestra Concert exemplify the creativityand care with which communities are telling their stories, creating connection, and responding to challenges and opportunities in their communities—all through the arts,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD, in an official announcement. “So many aspects of our communities such as cultural vitality, health and wellbeing, infrastructure, and the economy are advanced and improved through investments in art and design, and the National Endowment for the Arts is committed to ensuring people across the country benefit.”
