San Francisco Opera to Showcase ‘Bohème Out of the Box’

San Francisco Opera is set to present “Bohème Out of the Box” this April.

The showcase, which will take place on April 13 -14 at Burlingame and then on April 20 – 21 at Alameda, will feature an abridged version of Puccini’s masterpiece with a cast starring Caroline Corrales (Mimì), Christopher Oglesby (Rodolfo), Samuel Kidd (Marcello), Georgina Adams (Musetta), James McCarthy (Colline), Jongwon Han (Schaunard) and Philip Skinner (Benoit/Alcindoro). Pianists Julian Grabarek and Yang Lin join the cast.

Bohème Out of the Box” will also head on tour this June with performances in Albany on June 27 and Union City on June 29.

The entire show runs for 75 minutes with no intermission. It is performed in Italian with English narration by Michael Bragg. There will also be live English subtitles available on personal mobile devices.

Additionally, families are invited to participate in “First Act Workshops” that take place 45 minutes before the showcase.
