San Francisco Opera Postpones Drive-In ‘Tosca’

By David Salazar

San Francisco Opera has announced that it will be postponing its upcoming screenings of “Tosca” at the Fort Mason Flix Drive-In.

The two showcases were set for Dec. 11 and 12 and were set to feature a 2009 production of the famed Puccini Opera. The productions starred Adrianne Pieczonka in the title role.

However, the company was forced to postpone the showcase due to the City of San Francisco’s stay-at-home order which went into effect over the weekend. The company has not announced a new date for the screenings but noted that ticketholders will be contacted by the Box Office regarding refunds.

This screening of “Tosca” was to follow another such production by the company of its 2008 “La Bohème” starring Piotr Beczala and Angele Gheorghiu.
