San Francisco Opera Launches ‘The Opera in You’ Writing Workshops

San Francisco Opera will launch a new storytelling workshop “The Opera in You” starting on Sept. 17, 2022.

The workshop, which will be presented in collaboration with the San Francisco Public Library, will invite audience members to share their own operatic stories. The events are open to the public at no cost.

There will be two five-part sessions. The first session is set between Sept. 17 – Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The second session kicks off on Oct. 22 and runs through Dec. 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Among the writers and storytellers who will lead the sessions are Corey Rosen, Nicole Apostol Bruno, Patricia Cotter, F.T. Kola, Sara Marinelli, and Christian Wilburn.

The events are showcased as part of the company’s Centennial season which recently opened with John Adams’ “Anthony and Cleopatra.”
