On February 12, 2022, San Diego Opera will open its mainstage season with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.”

This production, directed by Timothy Nelson and conducted by Bruce Stasyna, will mark the company’s return to the San Diego Civic Theatre, and the first time San Diego Opera has presented the work since 2005.

The cast will feature 2021 Cardiff Singer of the World winner Gihoon Kim as Guglielmo, soprano Alisa Jordheim as Despina, Sarah Tucker as Fiordiligi, Konu Kim as Ferrando, Reginald Smith Jr. as Don Alfonso, and Samantha Hankey as Dorabella. The crew for this new production includes scenic designer Tim Wallace, costume designer Ingrid Helton, and lighting designer Abigail Hoke-Brady.

“Così fan tutte” will run for four performances on February 12, 15, 18, and 20. San Diego Opera’s mainstage season will continue in March with Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” and Paola Prestini’s “Aging Magician” in May.
