San Diego Opera Announces Cast Change for ‘Così fan tutte’

San Diego Opera has announced a major cast change for its upcoming production of “Così fan tutte.”

The company noted that John Brancy will be joining the cast in place of Gihoon Kim, who had been scheduled to make his North American debut. However, per a press statement, he withdrew from the production due to personal reasons.

Brancy will now make his San Diego Opera debut alongside a cast that stars Alisa Jordheim, Samantha Hankey, Konu Kim, Sarah Tucker, and Reginald Smith Jr. The opera will be directed by Tim Nelson and conductor Bruce Stasyna.

Brancy has appeared with such companies as San Francisco Opera, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Pacific Opera Victoria, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Oper Frankfurt, Edmonton Symphony, Arizona Opera, Carnegie Hall, the Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Edmonton Opera, Opéra national de Lorraine, Florida Grand Opera, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Pacific Opera Victoria, and Opera Omaha, among others.
