Samuel Mariño, Diana Alexe & Sofija Petrovic Lead Amigos de la Ópera de A Coruña’s 2025 Season

The 73rd season of the Amigos de la Ópera de A Coruña has been announced.

The season opens with Bizet’s “Carmen,” which will be directed by Calixto Bieito and will star Sofija Petrovic as Carmen, Brian Michael Moore as Don José, Jean-Fernand Setti as Escamillo, and María José Moreno as Micaela. The Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia will be conducted by Gianluca Martinenghi.

Performance Dates: Sept. 5 & 7, 2025


Mozart’s “La finta semplice” will be directed by Gianmaria Aliverta. Giuseppe Sabbatini conducts a cast that includes Diana Alexe, Christian Pursell, Anthony Webb, Angela Schisano, Marina Zyatkova, Caio Duran, and David Cervera.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26 & 28, 2025


The company will showcase vocal classes led by Carlos Álvarez.

The company will showcase a gala featuring Samuel Mariño and Jonathan Ware.

Debussy’s “Pélleas et Mélisande” will star Sabrina Gárdez, Edward Nelson, Yakov Strizhak, Igor Durlovski, Mónica Redondo, Belén Vaquero, and Javier Agudo. José Miguel Pérez Sierra conducts.
